Artisans of Tilonia

The women artisans of Tilonia are able to earn an income to help support their families while working at home. In the traditional culture of the Rajput communities in rural Rajasthan, women are expected to remain at home. To show their modesty, they follow the traditional practice of covering their faces in the presence of male visitors.

By sewing Tilonia products, these women earn supplemental income that helps them to educate their children and improve their quality of life.
