Since 1972, the Barefoot College has
worked to improve the lives of the rural poor. The College addresses basic needs
for water, electricity, housing, health, education and income.
Semi-literate women and men from fifteen countries around the world are currently training
at the Barefoot College in Tilonia, Rajasthan, India to become barefoot solar engineers.
After six months of training, these women and men will return to their own countries
and solar-electrify their own communities.
You can learn more about the College's community-based development work through
this collection of Barefoot College books and films.
